Employment Type: Temporary (Approx. 3 months -- covering LOA)

Pay: $30-$40/hr.

Schedule: Hours need to overlap for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner II to support a fast-paced distribution and operations environment. This temporary assignment will serve as a key HR resource for multiple facilities, partnering with leaders and employees to drive employee relations, workplace safety, compliance, recruiting support, and workforce engagement initiatives.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys working directly with operational teams, conducting investigations, coaching managers, promoting a positive employee experience, and ensuring compliance with employment and safety regulations.

What You'll Do

Employee Relations & HR Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on workplace issues, policy interpretation, and employee concerns.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations involving workplace complaints, policy violations, and other employment matters.
  • Provide guidance on corrective action, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Support employee engagement efforts and foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Conduct exit interviews and assist with employee separation processes.
  • Partner with corporate HR teams to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.

Safety & Compliance

  • Support safety initiatives and reinforce a culture of workplace safety.
  • Coordinate safety training programs and monitor compliance requirements.
  • Participate in facility audits and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Investigate safety-related concerns and partner with operations leaders to implement solutions.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance related to employment, workplace safety, and employee programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to compliance activities.

Workers' Compensation Administration

  • Coordinate workplace injury reporting and investigation processes.
  • Partner with management and workers' compensation stakeholders to facilitate claim management and return-to-work efforts.
  • Ensure required documentation is maintained and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a resource for managers regarding injury prevention and reporting procedures.

Recruiting & Onboarding Support

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support staffing initiatives.
  • Assist with candidate screening and interview processes as needed.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Support pre-employment activities including background checks, employment verification, and onboarding documentation.

HR Operations

  • Provide day-to-day HR support for employees and leadership teams.
  • Assist with leave administration, benefits-related inquiries, and employee support programs.
  • Deliver training on HR policies, compliance topics, employee relations, and workplace procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve HR processes and employee programs.
  • Support multiple sites and travel as business needs require.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Generalist, Employee Relations, or HR Business Partner capacity.
  • Experience supporting frontline employees and leaders in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or similar industrial setting required.
  • Experience supporting employee relations investigations and advising managers on HR matters.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting both exempt and non-exempt employee populations.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification.
  • Experience supporting distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or industrial operations environments.
  • Multi-site HR support experience.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation and workplace safety programs.

Work Environment

  • Primarily onsite role supporting operational teams.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with employees across multiple shifts, including occasional support for evening and overnight operations.
